Lawton Skaling is a junior studying Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University. He is the Operations Manager of the Stanford Student Space Initiative, where he serves to bridge the connection between students and the aerospace industry through partnerships, talks, and internships. Driven by a passion for learning through experience, he’s made everything from high-power rockets and remote-controlled planes to a motorized couch and lunar regolith 3D printer. He loves sharing what he learns with others through leading project teams and hosting workshops with the Stanford Student Space Initiative. His past internship experience includes autonomous cars and electric planes, and he has a lifelong passion for space that he’s excited to contribute to this summer at Astranis. Born and raised in Alaska, Lawton loves running and exploring the outdoors.
